To Rescue a Dragon 
The sun rises shining over the land, turning trees and grass golden as the rays hit them. A green light flashes over the landscape you look up to see a blue dragon flying by, here the story starts. We are joining our hero Cedric and his dragon Mistfyre as they are traveling across Andorra.
‘How much longer Mistfyre?’ Cedric complained ‘I’m close to falling over with exhaustion’ ‘We are close little one’ came her calm response. The steady beat of her wings was soothing after the long day of flight ‘Hold on’ she said while she folded her wings and spiraled towards the ground. She opened her wings at the last moment and
landed in a meadow. They laughed together as Cedric unstrapped his legs sliding off. “Thanks for the warning” Cedric joked as he unstrapped her saddle and all the bags. He worked on setting up camp, Mistfyre stayed close beside him. When he was done he playfully pushed her shoulder, ‘Go hunt’ Mistfyre started to protest ‘I shall be fine until you return’ he insisted until she agreed stretching her wings. Cedric backed up so she would not hit him as she took off. After she took off he turned and picked up his bow and arrow and a dagger so that he could hunt for himself. He hiked listening intently for the slightest sound of game. After a while he finds a den of rabbits taking their lives quickly and collecting them.
He started back the way he came, realizing he’d gone too far. ‘Mistfyre?’ he called out with his mind hoping to h
ave her help him find his way back. All that answered him was silence. He got worried as the time went by and yet she still did not answer him. By the time he found his way back to the camp it was dark. He rushed through the trees to stare in horror at the camp. The ground was torn with deep furrows like the ones Mistfyre leaves when she takes off. Now, that wouldn’t normally bother him, what bothered him was that there were two sets of dragon prints along with a bunch of human sets. From the looks of it Mistfyre had been taken but she went down fighting. Whoever had taken her had also torn apart his camp most likely looking for him. He dug through the mess where his tent had to look for his sword. He found it after awhile with a note attached to the hilt. It read:
We have taken your Dragon, Earthsword. If you want to see her again come to Novgorod and complete three tasks in my presence and I shall awarded her to you again.
Askeladden
Cedric took a few steps back to keep from falling as he read the last few words. How could he do this? Mistfyre was all Cedric had, he’d been abandoned by his parents when he was very young and ever since he’d found and raised Mist they’d watched out for each other. He’d do anything for her if she was in trouble, and she would do the same for him. He deliberated for what seemed like hours, only stopping to sleep on the hard ground. When he awoke he resolved to leave and try to rescue her. He packed the few things that had survived the attack and set out towards Askeladden’s Castle.
